Wilkinson Williams

Wilkinson Williams originally advised Pillar Property on the acquisition of the New Mersey Shopping Park in Speke for a price of £100 million in 2000. Following the acquisition, Wilkinson Williams were retained to advise them on the letting and asset management of the scheme, which resulted in excess of 50 surrenders and relettings. Since acquisition, top rents on the park have moved from £15.00 to £53.75 per sq ft and tenants now include M&S, New Look, River Island, Next, Borders and WH Smith.

In summer of 2007, Wilkinson Williams advised the owners, Hercules Unit Trust, with regard to an off market sale of the 50% interest in the shopping park to private clients of the Bank of Ireland for a price of approximately £210 million, which reflected an equivalent yield in the region of 4.00%.
