Wilkinson Williams advised PRUPIM back in 2005 on the design of a new retail park to be built on what was a seven storey office building owned by PRUPIM next to an existing shopping centre and a small 1980s retail park, also all owned by PRUPIM.
Working with the design team, Wilkinson Williams recommended a scheme which achieved an open A1 planning consent for 103,000 sq ft, together with two A3 units, with 75% mezzanine cover across the scheme.
Various prelets were agreed with Next, Arcadia, Brantano, Pets at Home and Peacocks to enable PRUPIM to build out the scheme. The retail park was completed in late 2008, with rentals agreed which vary from £17.00-£20.00 per sq ft.
The scheme has brought first class fashion retailers to Washington who were previously not present in the shopping centre, and have considerably enhanced the retail offer of the town.
There are currently three offers for the remaining space and we envisage these deals being exchanged later in 2010.
